A New Interface for Empire Online

Empire Online, a database from Adam Matthew Publishers, has a new look! Empire Online offers PDF scans of manuscripts, official documents, photographs, periodicals, and other materials involving empire studies, as well as nearly 20 contextual essays with links to primary source material. With the new interface, you can now access an interactive chronology, browsable by category, empire, country, and commodity. You can also save documents and images to "My Archive" and "My Lightbox."

Empire Online is available via a "Databases" search on the UK Libraries' home page.

Area Handbooks in Ready Reference

Area Handbook volumes have been removed from the Ready Reference Collection and are being
 integrated into the SuDoc shelves on the fifth floor.

 Just found out from Barb Hale that WorldCat Identities is now in beta. It has a summary information page for every name (30 million or so) in WorldCat.

Reference Research Review 2010

The RUSA/RSS Research and Statistics committee announces the release of the Reference Research Review: 2010, a bibliography highlighting selected works in the reference literature published during 2010. Citations were selected and annotated by the 2010-2011 committee members. To view the bibliography, please visit http://bit.ly/ResearchReview2010.

The 27 articles selected range in topics from SMS reference, paraprofessionals at the reference desk, to information seeking behaviors in the digital age.
